Challenge
  • The term
  • Establish the positioning line at every opportunity - the world
Response
  • Promote a series of pre-festival commission events, starting almost two years ahead, to convey the quality, ambition, and populism of the Festival.
Result
  • A commissioning coup results in an international media scrum for the first pre-festival commission (Gorillaz Live), box office queues around the venue, new sponsors signing-up and Manchester and wider audiences getting a new idea about what a festival could mean.
